Wetaskiwin County

Wetaskiwin Early Years Coalition

Who we are:

We are comprised of over 60 members and partners in our large County, the City of Wetaskiwin and the Town of Millet.
We actively support and partner with organizations that promote healthy child development in our communities.
Our Coalition meets monthly. We are actively engaged with several community projects that are ongoing and host subcommittees involving parents in the community too.

Where we’ve been:

Our Coalition has been in existence since the beginning of the ECMap Research Project and we have had members who have remained involved since the beginning. Much work was done to map our community and find the assets that we have, and members of our Coalition worked very hard to disseminate the ECMap Early Development Instrument (EDI) community results. We are now working to mobilize the current research and knowledge, and raise awareness about community resources.

Where we’re going:

We have a committed group of Stakeholders who work hard to collaborate and keep the discussion around early childhood healthy development going. We have a strong visual image and logo that is recognized in our city. We are making connections with the Town of Millet and organizations/businesses in the County of Wetaskiwin.
We actively connect members together to improve conditions for families and children.
We are currently planning partnerships, supporting new programs that fill gaps in the community, planning for large family events with entertainers and other wonderful activities.
We are enthusiastic and passionate members focused on improving child and family life in Wetaskiwin, Millet and County.
