Vegreville & Area Child Development Coalition
Who we are:
We are community members who collaborate, using our communities’ strengths and resources, to support and promote positive early childhood development and respond to local needs. We work hard to raise public awareness of early learning, healthy development, and local caregiver resources for community children 0-6 years of age. We collaborate with a common vision to address problems & outcomes that are not easily or effectively achieved by working alone.
Where we’ve been:
We are part of a rich history of establishing the foundations of health and well-being in the early years with the collaborative support of parents, families, caregivers, and our community.
We create, develop and implement an annual Coalition Community Action Plan (CCAP). The CCAP focuses on increasing awareness and understanding of early childhood development and available resources, engaging community, collaborating with stakeholders and building our capacity. Some of the work we have done in Vegreville includes Toddler Truths as featured on Country 106.5, Kindergarten Fairs, a monthly “Find the Fun” Newsletter, and our Developmental Cards which focus on the 5 domains of early childhood development.
Where we’re going:
Come join us as we continue to create and sustain positive change for young children and families. Let’s build a foundation of health and well-being in the early years that will last a lifetime!
We are always open to energetic individuals and organizations who are interested in joining our team. Our membership often includes parents, grandparents, Early Learning and Care providers, educators, health care workers, librarians, non-profit organizations, entrepreneurs, community groups, and service providers.
As we move forward, continuing to reach out to our community through a variety of activities and events, please contact us if you would like to join us!
