The Rimbey & Area Early Child Development Coalition is a local group of service providers and community members who are interested in the well-being of children aged 0-6 and their families.
The Coalition welcomes all members of the community who are interested in early child development. Moms and dads, grandmas, grandpas, uncles and aunts, as well as those who are committed to the community. The Coalition meets once a month and participants may choose to help with the many special education and family events the coalition hosts throughout the year. Please contact us via email at: rimbey1@fcssaa.org or rimbeynp@telus.net.
Our Coalition was formed in 2012 in response to a 5 year government research project addressing the importance of the early years on school readiness as well as life long health. The Coalition has a commitment to help all children of our community 0-6 reach their full potential.
Children’s early experiences shape actual brain structure during a critical period of development (from birth to about age five). These experiences have a lifelong impact on school, work, health, relationships and well-being. Socio-economic conditions and community resources, as well as children’s relationships with their immediate family and other caregivers, are among the factors that affect children’s early experiences and development.
The Rimbey and Area Early Child Development Coalition envisions:
…A community where children are welcomed to participate fully in all areas of daily life.
…A community where the exuberance, zest for life and incredible potential of children are celebrated.
…A community where the unique needs of every child and family are accommodated.
Early Childhood Coalitions of Alberta (ECCA) is the provincial identity of nearly 100 active Coalitions across Alberta, supported by the team at Family and Community Supports Services Association of Alberta and the Government of Alberta.
