Pathways to Success Early Childhood Coalition
Who we are:
We know all children from conception to age six do better when supported by family, and the community in reaching their optimal development. We know that what happens in the first 2000 days has lifelong implications on their brain development and future success.
Early childhood development (ECD) community coalitions are groups of individuals who have come together to actively promote positive early development.
With that understanding, we are community members who collaborate, using our communities’ strengths and resources, to promote positive early development and respond to local needs. We provide a voice for the early years in hopes to increase our circle of influence. We work together with a common voice and vision.
Where we’ve been:
Since inception in 2013, we have been a part of a rich history of establishing the foundations of health and well-being in the early years with the collaborative support of parents, families, caregivers, and our community.
One example would be being a leader in building a community center for the Town of Irricana, rich with services for children, families and community.
We create, develop and implement an annual Coalition Community Action Plan (CCAP). The action plan includes measurable goals and provides details on the actions and activities that will contribute towards achieving the goals. The CCAP focuses on increasing awareness and understanding of early childhood development and available resources, engaging community, collaborating with stakeholders and building our capacity.
We engage community, parents and professionals via multiple mediums, activities, events and social media presence.
Where we’re going:
The Pathways to Success Coalition is focused on lowering ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences), increasing social connections for parents in our communities and valuing the importance of Play. Come join us as we continue to create and sustain positive change for young children and families. Let’s build a foundation of health and well-being in the early years that will last a lifetime.
Our membership is open to all of the community and often includes parents/families, community members, non-profit organizations, entrepreneurs, community groups, service providers, professionals.
