Leduc Regional Early Childhood Coalition
Who we are:
We are a team of community members and service providers who strive to increase awareness of the importance of early childhood learning and development through connection, collaboration and play. Equally important is the voice we provide for the early years in hopes to increase our circle of influence. Our region is very large and diverse and by working together with a common vision to address problems & outcomes we are achieving goals that are not easily or effectively achieved by working alone.
Where we’ve been:
Our Coalition is a part of a rich history of establishing the foundations of health and well-being in the early years with the collaborative support of parents, families, caregivers, and our community. A priority is to grow in capacity as a coalition and as individual members, by enhancing leadership skills and practises that increase our effectiveness in delivering the message about the value of the early years.
We create, develop and implement an annual Coalition Community Action Plan (CCAP). The action plan includes measurable goals and provides details on the actions and activities that will contribute towards achieving the goals. The CCAP focuses on increasing awareness and understanding of early childhood development and available resources, engaging community, collaborating with stakeholders and building our capacity
Where we’re going:
Our Coalition is tightly connected with the Beaumont and Area Coalition and together we have created two I AM videos intended to bring awareness and education on the importance of the early years. We are utilizing Alberta Family Wellness Initiative Resources and are working towards Coalition completion of the Brain Story Certification. In addition, we’ve worked closely creating an I AM Booklet, ICONS for the five developmental areas and provided many dynamic educational opportunities.
We invite you to join us as we continue to create and sustain positive change for young children and families. Our welcoming coalition membership consists of Alberta Health Services,Family and Community Services from -City of Leduc, Leduc County, Devon, Calmar, Warburg, Thorsby and Beaumont and Edmonton and Area Child and Family Services.
Let’s build a foundation of health and well-being in the early years that will last a lifetime.
