Cochrane & Area
Cochrane & Area Early Childhood Development Coalition
Who we are:
Cochrane and Area’s Early Childhood Development Coalition is a vibrant active group of individuals coming together to support Cochrane’s young families through those first five years.
Where we’ve been:
Our Coalition has been chaired through the Western Rockyview Parent Link Centre and Cochrane’s Family & Community Support Services (FCSS) since it began with the establishment of Coalitions during the ECMap Research Project and stewards of the Early Development Instrument (EDI) results. Since then the Coalition has grown in popularity, and is working to be recognized throughout our community as a hub of professionals coming together, as well as a wealth of information for families.
Where we’re going:
Our Coalition has over 20 active members! We currently have three different working groups tackling projects within our community, and we come together once every three months to review our progress and plan for the future!
Our social media presence on Facebook has exploded, and we see new members following and liking it every single day. Check it out @CochraneECDCoalition
Our Coalition has a beautiful connection with the Roots of Empathy program. It is a wonderful program that promotes empathy in school aged children through the development of an infant in their first year of life. We support finding families that would be a good fit to participate in this program.
