Beaumont & Area ECD Coalition
Who we are:
We are a committed team who have been working together since 2009 to coordinate community resources and to enhance the success of early childhood development in our community. Our purpose is to work together through a coordinated, collaborative approach while building community capacity to enhance the success of school readiness, and to promote the importance of
Early Childhood Development.
Where we’ve been:
We create, develop and implement an annual Coalition Community Action Plan (CCAP). The CCAP focuses on increasing awareness and understanding of early childhood development and available resources, engaging community, collaborating with stakeholders and building our capacity. We have also created the City of Beaumonts’ Early Childhood Development (ECD) Framework. The City of Beaumont’s ECD Framework provides a structure for all completing parts to be fitted. Our City Council and MLA are supportive in the process and sustainability of the importance of the early years. The action plan and the City’s Framework includes measurable goals and provides details on the actions and activities that will contribute towards achieving the goals.
Where we’re going:
Our Coalition is tightly connected with the Leduc Regional Coalition and together we have created two I AM videos intended to bring awareness and education on the importance of the early years. We are utilizing Alberta Family Wellness Initiative Resources and are working towards Coalition Completion of the Brain Story Certification. In addition, we’ve worked closely creating an I AM Booklet, ICONS for the five developmental areas and provided many dynamic educational opportunities.
The goals of Beaumont’s Coalition include creating and maintaining partnerships/relationships between community service providers, enhance awareness of the existing community resources, to advocate for and support the importance of ECD in our community, to create awareness of the City of Beaumont’s ECD Framework and to utilize the Framework to guide decision making and support the healthy development of children.
We invite you to join us as we continue to create and sustain positive change for young children and families. Our dynamic team includes Beaumont Family and Community Support Services (FCSS), Alberta Health Services, The City of Beaumont Library, Early Childhood Resource Program, Leduc Regional Parent Link Center, The County of Leduc Family and Community Services, Beaumont’s Municipal Child Care Center, Seeds and Sprouts Early Learning Childcare Center, Sunshine Patch Early Learning Center and Eaglemont Church. Let’s build a foundation of health and well-being in the early years that will last a lifetime.
